I like your design formally but I would encourage even further sectional exploration.
i feel like the second image is perhaps the most interesting, but will never be experienced by the viewer. What might have been a stronger approach might have been to have the viewer enter the design already being very elevated somehow, such as walking over a deep hole in the ground. This might be too literal of an interpretation of the title of the poem, but it would suggest that we don't have to work so hard to find our accomplishments and our dignity, that we are inherently and daily already at an elevated level.
i would agree that a path would make this design stronger, however, for this specific assignment we are suppose to focus on the space itself and stay away from the paths, stairs and ramps.
